A little bit about us
We bring sofas back to life. Eleven years ago our founders Rachel and Henry needed a fix for their old sofa and ended up making their own slipcover. Then they started making slipcovers for other people too.
Today, Comfort Works produces over 12,000 sofa covers a year, has saved over 64,000 sofas from landfill, and made a lot of people happy.
At the Comfort Works blog, we’re extending that spirit of designing change to all things home and living. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that your home should be a true reflection of your personality, and it should be able to serve every function you need of it.
Right now, that could mean a multitude of things: a workspace, a schoolroom, a playground. But it should also be a place of rest and joy. After all, if home is the only place we’re going right now, it should be a great place to be.
We want the Comfort Works blog to be an interesting, rewarding editorial destination for sofa users and lovers of the interiors world. As a Comfort Works contributor, your posts will reach upwards of 120,000 unique visitors monthly.
In addition to gaining exposure to a significant and growing readership, we’ll share your content with our audience of over 100,000 followers across our social media and email platforms.
We’re looking for…
1. Original, unpublished work, across the topics of interior design, parenting, green living and plants
We only accept stories of 500 words or longer that have not been published on your own site or elsewhere.
2. Personality-driven, one-of-a-kind stories and interviews – with substance
Your article should reflect your distinct tone of voice, story and experience. No generic listicles please! Opinions should be backed by credible stats and sources, with links provided.
Send it in
1. Please email us your pitch or story in full together with accompanying images (your own or creative commons only please).
2. Include your bio (with one link to your site), highlighting your credentials in your space of expertise (if any), any books you’ve written, or publications you’ve been featured in at the bottom of your story.
What to expect
We read every submission we receive, but because we’re a small team, we can’t respond to every single one. If your story has been accepted, we will respond to you within 14 days.
If we publish your story, we’ll also promote it on our social media channels and in our monthly newsletters.
If we don’t feel your story is a good fit for us, we hold no legal obligation to publish it, which means you’ll be free to submit it elsewhere or publish it on your own site.
