Modena White

A number of Klippan owners have demanded to see some more photos of this sofa in leather, so we thought; “No dramas. Let’s have a step-by-step on how to dress up your Klippan like an adult, Yay!”

We’ve decided to keep with our studio’s stark white theme and choose our Modena White leather for this photo shoot.  You can order free samples of our leathers by clicking on this direct link.

Step 1:

Make sure the slipcover is fitted on all four corners before proceeding to pull the entire slipcover down. Best to do this with your partner. TIP: Believe me, it is futile to fit only one corner at a time and then trying to get the other sides in after.

Step 2:

Once you have the entire slipcover on the frame, proceed to strap down the velcro on the entire base. Ensure that you have secured all four strips of velcro, adjusting only the arms of the sofa. Leave the main seating area for later on. TIP: Tuck and Fit the centre piece ONLY after you’ve secured all the velcros.

Step 3:

Smooth out the back rest and tuck in the main seating area into the middle gap. TIP: For leather slipcover owner, fitting the middle section is less of a struggle if you do it with WET hands. You can also “gather” wrinkles and push the extra fabrics inbetween the back and side cushions, as your hands will slip in much easier.

Step 4:

Almost there! For the Klippan 2 seater,  secure the middle and side sections with the plastic tube which came with the couch.  For the Klippan 4 seater, ensure that you velcro the middle section down. This will help the fabric or leather slipcover to stay in place.

After all that work, chuck a couple of dressy cushions and have a cuppa tea!

Hope this helps. Otherwise, talk to us on our live chat.

Will you be coming out with any alternative stitching styles?

I quite like some of the patchwork/strip styles I’ve seen (including Ikea’s own) because they visually break up the space and reduce/disguise the wrinkles that form across the large expanse of plain fabric covering the body of the sofa.

Hi Joe. Yeah, I agree. I particularly like baseball stitching for my leather sofas.

Just drop us a quick photo of what type of stitching/look you are after along with the measurements (spacing between each strip) and we’ll have that custom made for you. Hope that helps! (info@comfortworks.com.au)
