Pottery Barn isn’t new, especially to those who have a thing for comfortable and classic couches. Since it was founded in 1949, the brand has made many public appearances in several sitcoms, including Friends and Boy Meets World.
Pottery Barn is known for its quality furniture, with many of them made out of kiln-dried hardwood frames which can withstand regular use over time. Furthermore, they come in various designs from traditional to contemporary, so there’s going to be something for everyone.
Pottery Barn’s sleeper sofas are no exception. But first, what is a sleeper sofa? A sleeper sofa is similar to a regular sofa, but it has an additional function – you can turn it into a bed for sleeping. Most of the time, it requires pulling out the bed frame from underneath the seat cushions and voila, you get a bed!
Pottery Barn’s sleeper sofas are designed with comfort in mind. They feature deep, plush cushions and comfortable mattresses, so they’re not only comfortable for lounging, but for sleeping as well.
With so many options available from Pottery Barn, which do you choose? We’ve got a few models that we have deemed “the best” so far (by our standards), so you don’t have to go through the hassle.
Note: This review is for those who love sleeping on their couches.

Feeling of the first sit: Right when you sit on it, it does feel firm, especially with memory foam cushions. But, if you choose the down blend, it feels softer and more luxurious.

What we think: The PB Comfort Roll Arm Slipcovered Sleeper sofa has a classic design that would fit in traditional or contemporary spaces, so we’d say it’s pretty flexible. Its soft and supportive cushions are also great for sleeping, especially when you have guests sleeping over for the night. PLUS, if things get messy, you can always remove the slipcovers, give them a wash and slip ‘em back on.

Who is it for: The size of the sofa is suitable for families with up to 2 children. If you’re looking for something that’s closer to modern than traditional, the PB York Slope Arm Deep Seat Slipcovered Side Sleeper is definitely something you can consider. One good thing about the side sleeper is if your young child happens to fall asleep on the sofa, you can just sleep on the outer side and you won’t be worried about them falling off.
Feeling of the first sit: It’s on the softer side of the scale and the depth could mean that your feet may not be able to touch the ground if you have an average height. Once the mattress is opened up, the height is reduced to 19”, which is significantly closer to the ground.
Warranty: Pottery Barn allows a 30-day window for returns, but this does not apply to custom, made-to-order products. There is also no warranty for Pottery Barn furniture.
What we think: The soft cushion and deep seats make it perfect for lounging. It’s definitely not a sofa that you can sit upright on for serious work mode. It’s more of a laid back sofa that requires you to lay back and relax. When you turn it into a mattress, the firmness of the memory foam makes it decent for sleeping for a night or two.

Who is it for: Families with 1-2 kids and a moderate-sized apartment will find this couch perfect. While it is able to fit the 3 or 4 of you, it also doesn’t take as much space as some of the wider couches out there. If you can’t seem to settle on one end of the spectrum (classic versus contemporary), the PB Pearce Sleeper Sofa is perfect because it sits just right in the middle of both.
Feeling of the first sit: The medium-soft, down-blend wrapped cushions make you want to lounge on them. Furthermore, the deep seat cushions and high seat height makes it great for tall and short people alike who love lounging.
Warranty: Pottery Barn allows a 30-day window for returns, but this does not apply to custom, made-to-order products. There is also no warranty for Pottery Barn furniture.
What we think: We like how versatile its style is, where it can fit within more than one type of interior. The high seat also works for people who don’t want too much pressure on their knees as they bend down to sit on the sofa. The mattress height of the Pearce is the same as the sofa, so it’s easier to get on the mattress as well.
The Pottery Barn sleeper sofas mentioned are available mostly in neutrals but also in darker tones and even a pop of red. Their slipcovers might not be suitable for everyone – take a look at our Pottery Barn sleeper sofa replacement covers.
