How to get a velvet sofa on a budget

It’s been less than 6 months since we launched our new velvet fabrics for slipcovers and we’ve been overwhelmed with the amazing reception and responses we’ve been getting from everyone. We’ve been fielding questions left and right about this, including concerns about how practical the fabric can be for sofa covers.

In case you’re wondering, yes, these slipcovers can be taken off and machine washed as per our fabric care guide. So once again – are velvet slipcovers more for style rather than practicality? The answer from us is a resounding no, especially not when you can get the sofa of your comfortable, velvety-soft dreams and keep them clean too.

Here are some photos of velvet sofa covers in real homes, not showrooms!

Another angle of this amazing space!

When N. sent us photos of her living room, we were blown away by how amazing her couch looked with the new, super luxurious Karlstad sofa covers. She swapped out the original sofa legs too, and tufted the sofa’s back cushions with our DIY tufting kit for an ultra-glamorous update to her basic couch.

Jenny from MakeItBoho had been dreaming of a way to update her Ikea Friheten sofabed and found that we could make slipcovers in a beautiful blush pink velvet – perfect for her soft, feminine bohemian style. She also opted to get matching bolster covers to complete the look.

The Sven Grass Green Sofa took Pinterest by storm, but it’s just a little (read: quite) pricey for many budgets. Brittany from Oh My Dear Blog wanted to get the same look with her old Karlstad loveseat and sofa, so replacement slipcovers it was! The best thing about this is that these snug fit slipcovers can be removed and cleaned, unlike traditional upholstery which is fixed on your frame, so it’s easy to maintain when the time comes to wash them. She dreamed up these slipcovers as part of her family room revamp, resulting in a beautiful and bold, yet cozy space for her family to hang out.
