This post details each different measurements along with its sizes on each Ektorp sofa model. It will also cover all the measurements and images of the discontinued IKEA Ektorp sofas such as the 2 seater sofa bed, corner 2+2 sofa bed, chaise lounge with armrest(s), Tullsta armrest and 2+2 Corner sofa.
Sizes are written as Width x Depth x Height – that’s the 2 widest points of the couch, the depth of the sofa armrest as well as the height from floor up to armrests (not to the top of the back cushions).
Also note that these are the measurements of the Sofa and not the actual slipcovers it self. Depending on the fabric choice, the slipcovers will be sewn accordingly to accommodate fabric stretch & fitting. Hope this helps.

Apr 4, 2019Hi, we have what I think is an Ektorp 3-seater sofa bed. However, we find it horrible as the cushions are all mushy, and they detach from the velcro at the back and end up gradually sliding off the sofa until they’re basically falling onto the ground. It’s terribly uncomfortable and the cushions don’t stay on at all (not even for 10 minutes). Doesn’t anyone else have this problem? Any fix?

Apr 4, 2019Not exactly a home DIY fix, but we had a very similar issue with our older sofa back then and that’s why we make our covers using a velvet lining on the underside of the seat cushion covers, that way it’s harder for it to simply slip off. You could otherwise try gluing new velcro strips on the old cushion covers, never a long term fix tho.

Nov 9, 2018Hi, we bought a 3 seater Ektorp sofa and matching 2 seater Ektorp loveseat from IKEA probably 12 – 15 years ago and subsequently bought a second 2 seater Ektorp loveseat (we thought) from Craigslist. On close examination the newly aquired loveseat has hinges at the joint of the seat base and the back, plus it has different, taller legs than the original loveseat. Do you think that this model is a sofa-bed perhaps ? We are looking to buy new slipcovers for the loveseats but are concerned that they may be different dimensions now. I can send pictures if that helps but basically the 2 sofas look the same. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Why did IKEA discontinue EKTORP sleeper sofas as the EKTORP sofa line is popular?

I believe IKEA discontinued the Ektorp sleeper sofa due to the way of accessing the sofabed.
There are much easier sofabed functions that are more user friendly.
IKEA does have some lovely newer sofa bed models that are worth checking out.

The armchair is quite a few years old. Have the dimensions of the chairs changed?

From what we’ve seen so far, the measurements of the Ektorp armchair are pretty consistent for the past 10 years or so, unless yours is even older than that? You might just want to compare the overall dimensions to check :)
