Our Review.

The Friheten was introduced after the discontinuation of its predecessor, the Manstad. While the Friheten functions similarly to the Manstad sofa bed and has a storage compartment under its chaise, it now allows you to change the sofa bed’s configuration by assembling the chaise on the left or right side of the sofa.

The “armrest” on the sofa seat side is also level with as the seats, allowing taller people to stretch their legs more easily without feeling squished up. One of the only downsides to this really budget-friendly sofa bed is that it comes upholstered, which makes cleaning cumbersome.

Thankfully, we have found a way to slipcover the Friheten in its entirety so you can customize it how you like and leave the cleaning for the washing machine. Design your own Friheten sofa bed slipcover today!

Hi, I am really interested in purchasing a Friheten sofa bed, the only thing I am concerned about is its durability and how long it will last before showing signs of wear from moderate use in a cinema room.

    Thanks! Jack 🙂

      Hey Jack,

In our experience the Friheten’s upholstery is moderately durable and will do just fine if maintained well with regular vacuuming. The pull-up bed works well too, but it’s best to head our to your local Ikea showroom and test it out for yourself 🙂

      Hey Kelly

Depending on how many people are working on it together and how familiar you are with the tools, it could take about 30-45 minutes to assemble from scratch 🙂

      Hey Linda,
Depending on the parts you’re looking for, you might be able to get some leads from your local Ikea store. Google shows that furnitureparts.com might be able to help too 🙂

      Hi Reece,

It would be best to contact IKEA about this. They’re the experts, after all.

      Hope that helps!

I need to know if I can wash the covers. My niece has been sleeping on them for the past two years without using sheets and as a result they are stained. Can anyone advise. The covers has got a zip and is removable, but I am nervous about putting them in a washing machine3
