Our Review.

The Friheten was introduced after the discontinuation of its predecessor, the Manstad. While the Friheten functions similarly to the Manstad sofa bed and has a storage compartment under its chaise, it now allows you to change the sofa bed’s configuration by assembling the chaise on the left or right side of the sofa.

The “armrest” on the sofa seat side is also level with as the seats, allowing taller people to stretch their legs more easily without feeling squished up. One of the only downsides to this really budget-friendly sofa bed is that it comes upholstered, which makes cleaning cumbersome.

Thankfully, we have found a way to slipcover the Friheten in its entirety so you can customize it how you like and leave the cleaning for the washing machine. Design your own Friheten sofa bed slipcover today!

Hi! I have a Friheten brown vinyl sofa. The material is bubbling and peeling off. Just the top layer, but it reveals a dull backing that looks less than presentable. Is there any warranty on the materials? Thanks a million!

Hi! I have a Friheten brown vinyl sofa that is 2 years old. The material is bubbling and peeling off. Just the top layer, but it reveals a dull backing that looks less than presentable. Is there any warranty on the materials? Thanks a million!

      Hey Edmund!

Sorry to hear that – as far as we know IKEA has a 10-year warranty on the product itself, but not on the covers/upholstery typically. We do encourage to give them a call nonetheless to see what they would be able to do for you 🙂

      Good luck!

We just bought our Friheten and set it up last week Thursday and our dog decided to pee on it. We didn’t realize that the covers are not removable. How has anyone cleaned theirs? Need to get both the stain and smell out.

    Thanks in advance!

Can some please give me the real measurements in inches please. How long is the sofa from arm to arm and how deep is the sofa when open for the bed, from the back to front. Thank you

      Hi there Kristen,

The width of the sofa, from arm to arm, is about 90.6 inches.

      Hope this helps!

Hi there I purchased the Frigeten chaise lounge from IKEA, I don’t have the assembly screws and IKEA is a fair distance away. Was hoping someone would know the sizes and screws used so I could purchase them from our local Bunnings instead
