Kivik 3 seater in Performance Blend Cream fabric

Status Check.

Status: Sofa and Slipcover are available from IKEA, but for some reason the slipcovers are always out of stock.

Slipcover: IKEA Kivik slipcovers available from Comfort Works

Measurements: IKEA Kivik sofa dimensions and measurements.

Cool Factor: Large, spacious, contemporary and modern looking. It has large armrests that serve as additional seating and the armrests can be detached when joining the Kivik with any other Kiviks to create a Kivik sectional.

Ugh Factor:  Unnaturally low armrests which just doesn’t feel quite right. It’s also a little pricier than expected.

Our Review.

We were so excited to try the KIVIK for ourselves that we took the day to visit the IKEA store just see how the KIVIK felt in person. To read our full reviews and first impressions on the sofa, click here.

In short, the Kivik is actually quite a looker and somewhat comfortable for an IKEA sofa – but it’s just a little bit pricey.

Although this model is still available at IKEA stores, Comfort Works offers slipcovers in alternative fabric and leather options for this model. Check out our loose fit long skirt Kivik slipcovers as well for the 2 seater & 3 seater models.

I’m looking to separate my 5-seat Kivik sectional into a separate sofa and loveseat. The problem is needing 2 more Kivik arms to do so? Does anybody have plans on how to make these yourself? or a place/website in which they might be able to be purchased?

    Thanks!

Hey Brian, from what we know IKEA does manufacture these sofas in parts – I’m not a 100% sure whether it’s sold separately but it’s worth a try since the Kivik still exists at IKEA 🙂

      Good luck!

I have been to two different Ikeas (Chicago, and Columbus (where I am from) now, and unfortunately the Kivik couch does NOT sell the arms separately. The Ikea in Chicago was way more helpful, and told me to continue looking in as-is sections at Ikea and to scour craigslist etc for them. I was told by the Columbus Ikea that it is not possible to separate the sectional into two different sofas, which I found extremely frustrating as the manuals for the sectional are from the sofa! 🙂

I hear you Brian – the customer service rep in Chicago sounds like he knew what he was talking about. Those are the next couple of avenues we’d probably recommend as well. The customer service rep at Columbus sounds a bit confused as I’m very sure the sectional can be separated into 2 different sofas.

It’s just going to be very difficult to find those 2 separate arms!

I bought a new kivik sofa and a used loveseat. Turns out the connector kit comes with the loveseat (since i bought it used they didn’t have it) and they don’t sell them anywhere separately. It is quite an extensive package of parts. Any idea where I could get the parts? Ikea has been no help. Thank you!

Hi, I am wanting to replace the two cushions on the Kivik Chaise Lounge, do you have the measurements by any chance? Thank you

      Hey Ashleigh!

We do have the measurements but we’d encourage using the original slipcovers and even bringing it to your local upholsterer/foam maker to determine the sizing for your cushion inserts.

Typically cushions need to be a little bigger than the covers, so we might end up doing you a disservice if you used our measurements and the covers turn out too loose for your inserts.

      Hope this helps!

Can the kivik loveseat be connected with the kivik corner section.

      Absolutely, Lisa!

Since the Kivik is a modular series, you’ll have to follow IKEA’s Kivik loveseat and corner section assembly manual. We usually recommend doing this with a friend or a partner, as it’s definitely a two-person activity 🙂

I am looking for the single seat kivik. I have two chaise and I want to put a single seat in between but they don’t sell them anymore. Anyone know where I can find one.

Not sure Livvy, the 1-seater Kivik sofa seems to be obsolete in most places indeed. We’d recommend trying to find a second-hand unit online – maybe look through Craigslist, Amazon, or even Etsy? Kaiyo might have it too.

      Good luck 🙂
