Our Review.
The Kramfors had been an absolute favourite since its introduction in 2000, but its discontinuation in 2009 had left many of us quite sad. Bloody brilliant to look at, the leather Kramfors is sexy, slick and super seductive. Sadly, it could be a little more comfortable.
Although the Kramfors has been discontinued in IKEA stores, Comfort Works is still producing replacement slipcovers for this model. Design your own Kramfors slipcover today!

Hello,
An Ikea associate in Canada told me they discontinued the Kramfors sofa because the company that manufactured it for Ikea sourced the leather from a company that raised their prices one year, thus forcing the manufacturer to raise their costs to Ikea, at which point, Ikea discontinued the sofa as it was beyond the top price point for their target market. The sofa was already at the top of the Ikea price point and the increased cost, priced it out of the Ikea market. However, that does not explain why they stopped making the fabric versions? Although I don’t remember ever seeing fabric versions in stores here, only the leather ones in black and dark brown. The leather is real and extemely durable, much thicker than other high end leather sofas I’ve seen. I’ve had my three peices for over a decade and they have stood up to many dogs with only a few small puncture holes and no sagging at all! I bought a left AND right handed chaise lounge and pushed them together to create a huge bed/lounge couch that is pretty much the size of a queen bed. I was not aware there was a faux leather version?

I’ve been keeping an eye on Comfort Works for a while, planning for the day when our retro avocado Kramfors will need a new cover. But an issue more pressing than pilled faux wool has presented itself: The discomfort factor. We spend an awful lot of time on the sofa, and though the Kramfors foam seat cushions have held up admirably for 10 years, we’re starting to feel the ache when it comes to back support. Configurations of stacked and crammed pillows just aren’t doing the job any more. My question to you is this: Can you recommend sofa back cushions that pair well with the Kramfors design? I recognize that your purview is slipcovers, but with your experience in IKEA design and textiles, I’m hoping you might have suggestions. The Kivik is of a similar style to the Kramfors, but as I’m discovering with every other likely sofa match, back cushions are not sold separately. Any ideas?

It’s probably best if you could source for someone local to create custom-sized back cushions (with foam) for your sofa. From what we understand Ikea doesn’t sell any of their sofa’s cushions separate from the rest of the sofa unless you manage to speak to someone who can help at your local showroom?
You might want to opt for something simple and box shaped to match the seat cushions (assuming you have the Kramfors sofa with 2 seat cushions) and if you need covers for those, all we’ll need would be the dimensions to make matching covers. Hope this helps!

My dog destroyed one of the seat cushions on my Kramfors. I’ll need to replace the cover and the foam cushion. I see that comfort works sells the covers, but how can I get the foam cushion replacement? thanks

does anyone know the measurements for the kramfors 3 seater cushions. i need to get replacement cushions and am not sure what each cushion (foam) part is sized.

Hmm, we are unsure the exact size it is but, we do carry covers for the 3 seater seat cushions and the cushion covers are made Width: 77cm, Depth: 63cm, Height: 16cm.
