Our Review.
With it’s Ektorp-ish design, the Backabro will sit classy in your living room until the time comes for it to transform. While there’s not much covering on arm rests and it’s a bit small to sit on if you’re a taller person the cushions more than make up for this. The back cushions are spongy with ample support and the bottom cushions are firm and bouncy. It is a quietly classic sofa, which is easily turned into an extra sleeper for the odd overnight guest.
Although this model has been discontinued in most IKEA stores, Comfort Works is still producing replacement slipcovers for the IKEA Backabro Sofa Bed.

Thanks for this review. However I need to know how much floor space the Backabro 2 seater occupies when it is in guest sleeping mode. Can you help please.

Hi Ken!
Thank you very much for your comment 🙂
The bed width of the Backabro (2-Seater Sofa-Bed) is 120 cm.
You have all the measures of this sofa up next:
Width: 168 cm
Depth: 88 cm
Height: 71 cm
Back height: 46 cm
Seat depth: 62 cm
Seat height: 45 cm
Bed width: 120 cm
Bed length: 200 cm
Mattress thickness: 9 cm
Hope this helps! Thanks again and have a nice day!

The mattress is a slightly odd size. What is the best fitted-sheet size for it?
by Felicia
Hey Michael,
For the Backabro 2-seater sofabed, the bed area is 120x200cm so that doesn’t match up to any fitted sheet size unfortunately. You might have better luck using a flat sheet instead, a UK Double or 53in × 75in size sheet would be best 🙂 Hope this helps!

Glory .hi iam looking to put this in my rv .can you please tell me in feet and inches how long with bed out and how wide

Hi Glory,
Which specific sofa are you looking to put in your RV? Thanks!

Hi.
I’m letting out my flat with a Backabro couch and now the agent wants to know where the fire safety sticker is located? I’m out of the country so can’t check myself but Im certain there would be one right? Would be so sad if I had to dispose of a great sofa simply because there was no label. Would you know where I might find such a sticker?
by Chuck
Hey Jenny!
Best to check with IKEA UK itself actually, I understand the fire regulations are pretty strict there so IKEA may have done theirs up differently to the rest of the world. If memory serves me correctly, this fire sticker / regulation doesn’t exist in the United States.

Hi,
Thank you for the review! Could you tell me the weight of the Backabro 2-seater sofa-bed?
Thank you
Emilie
by Naomi
Not so sure about that, Emilie!
IKEA has also discontinued the Backabro, so the best way to find out would be to contact someone who is selling this second-hand (or someone who has it at home).
Good luck! 🙂
