Cool Factor: Slipcovers and sofa are still available in IKEA across the glove. Easy to maintain with easy to remove slipcovers. Highly modular and can be grown and configured in many ways.
Ugh Factor: Few slipcover options available on IKEA, assembly can be a bit confusing especially at the very first step – the rotating bar can be rotated, but a lot of force is needed.

Our Review
The IKEA Soderhamn is a unique yet stylish sofa design. Its thin armrests give it an extra modern and contemporary feel, however the armrest isn’t something you’d want to put your hand or head on. If you want something a little more softer, adding a few extra pillows around the arms would be a great suggestion.
Still, it’s a yes from us! One of the many plus points is that you can always build your own custom sofa set with the modular Soderhamn. Whether to fit in the corner of your living room or as a grand sectional couch sitting in the center, just purchase a few sectional components and it’ll look great.

Does anyone know where I can get hands on replacement cushions for s chaise and lone seat section?
by Tina Giblin
Hello, we bought a second hand Soderhamn last summer and the under support of three pieces (the ones we sit on most) is terrible!! It actually causes lower back pain. Is there some way to fix this problem?
by Chuck
Hey Tina,
I completely understand what you mean — not sure if yours came with the standard back pillows, and smaller cushions but generally we try to use as many cushions to support our backs for the Soderhamn in order to make it as comfortable as possible.
Hope this helps!

Hey Janice,
You can try IKEA and/or if they don’t have it, there are these guys in the USA that custom-make it: https://ucprivatecourses.com/ref/comfortworks/?campaign=CWBlog

Can you use the chaise without the backrest to give it more of a bench look?

Can you use the chaise without the backrest to give it more of a bench look? I’m curious
by Ning Lim
Hey Devin, yes! You most definitely can! 🙂 But there will be a cover for the bottom frame and then one for the seat. 🙂
